This is my impression of a wooded valley floor in a wild place. It is a quiet, holistically soothing and beautiful landscape that I find I can not live without visiting regularly. it is just the kind of unique, harmonious natural habitat that dams carelessly inundate. The inspiration for this painting is in the Bear River watershed in Northern California, where an ill-conceived dam is being speedily pushed through Congress over the insightful pleas and astonished reasoning of locals. We need these wild free flowing rivers and their protected watersheds to remind us of our true selves. I hope we can listen well and in time.
